On February 13th, the city of Olney, England, hosted the country’s traditional pancake race. The annual competition brings together women who race each other while flipping pancakes on a frying pan. The 2024 winner was Kaisa Larkas with a time of 63.37 seconds.
According to tales, the tradition began in 1445 when a resident ran out with a pot when she heard church bells ring the start of a mass. This competition has already been copied in other places, such as Kansas, in the United States.
