On June 1st, the pop group Now United announced its newest member, Brazilian singer Desirée. The announcement was made through the band’s official TikTok account in a transmission by the project’s creator Simon Fuller. Desirée is 18 and is in her last year of high school in a school in São Paulo (SP).

The selection of the new Brazilian member took place in several stages at the end of 2022, after Brazilian Any Gabrielly announced she would leave the group to pursue a solo career. In addition to Desirée, singers Henry Cechini and Lucas Burgatti also participated in the last stage. This phase was transmitted exclusively by TikTok in an eight-episode reality show format. In it, the group’s fans were able to find out more about each participant and watch them sing, dance, and pose.

“I am very excited about everything that is yet to come. I am very grateful for the entire experience and for everything that we experienced (…),” declared Desirée after Simon announced the results on TikTok. The founder also stated that the group will record a song together with three fi nalists in Los Angeles, in the United States, to celebrate the entire selection process. “The three of them will have the chance to sing with Now United and celebrate together this year,” concluded Simon.

The band was founded in 2017 and the idea is for it to be made up of artists from different countries. The goal is to show that bringing people together from several cultures can bring positive results for the world. Some members from the original band are no longer part of the group and have been replaced, as was the case recently with Brazilian Any Gabrielly.
