The Spanish team Villarreal has won the Europa League after defeating Manchester United from England. The match was played in Gdansk, Poland, on May 26th, and had ended in a draw of one to one even after extra-time – the first goal was scored by the Spanish team in the first half, but the other team tied after the break. So, the decision went to penalty shootout with a final score of 11×10.

This is the most significant title Villarreal has ever won in its entire 98-year history. Before that, the Spanish team had only won the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Intertoto Cup between European clubs twice, in 2003 and 2004, and a Spanish third division title.
