The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, an international funny animal photo contest, has released the winning images from the 2020 edition on October 27th. Because of the new coronavirus pandemic, the awards were held online for the first time. Usually, the winners are announced to a live audience during a ceremony.

Images from all over the world were submitted for the contest. After 43 finalists were selected, winners in each of the categories were chosen. Some of the categories included: land animals, air animals, water animals, people‘s choice, and junior category (for young people up to 15).

The winning photos were selected by twelve judges. They chose the images that displayed the best photographic techniques and also captured the most fun moments.

This year, some of the winning photos include a lion cub watching over a brother from above a termite mound (junior category), a smiling fish (water animals), a stick insect hiding behind a stick (air animals), and a raccoon trying to fit into a tree hole (land animals).

How can someone participate?

Registration for the next edition of the contest will start on March 1st, 2021. Children and young people who are up to 15 can participate in the junior category. Anyone over 16 must compete in the other categories. Keep watch on: www.comedywildlifephoto.com
