To keep busy, British 92-year-old Margaret Seaman used her knitting skills to make a replica of Queen Elizabeth II’s country home. Sandringham House is where the Queen usually spends her winters. Using just a needle and thread, the old lady knit a model that is 5.5 metres long (the same size as an Asian elephant). The model represents the house and its gardens. The project took two weeks of work for ten to 12 hours every day.

Margaret’s model was exhibited at a craft fair. It was so detailed that the author was invited to show it at Sandringham House afterwards. The replica will be on display until the end of October to raise funds for the local health system.
