Tired of seeing photos by tourists that are inspired by the posts of digital influencers, members of the New Zealand department of tourism have launched a campaign to encourage people to be more creative when posing with the country’s attractions. The movement, called Do Something New, also calls for locals and tourists to visit lesser-known places, not just the most famous ones.
As part of the campaign, the agency even launched a series of humorous videos on YouTube on January 26th. In the posts, New Zealand comedian Tom Sainsbury pretends to be a tourist inspector. He visits the country’s main tourist sites to call the attention of people who take pictures without much creativity.
