At the start of 2019, the Egg Gang account hit the world record of likes on a single Instagram photo with the simple image of an egg. On January 13th, the post already had 32 million likes.

To get to that number of likes, the owners of the account asked social network users to set a new record together. The main goal of the Egg Gang was to have more than the 18 million likes of the previous record winner: an image of the digital influencer Kylie Jenner showing the hand of her newborn daughter, Stormy, holding her finger.

This got so much attention that even Kylie participated in the fun. She posted a video on her account of herself breaking an egg on the street with the caption: “Take that, little egg”.
