A lost, wild sheep was found in a forest in Victoria, Australia. It underwent its first shearing in five years in February. Because it had not been done in so long, the sheep’s wool had grown so much that, afterwards, it weighed 35 kilos less. That is approximately the weight of an 11-year-old child.

Because the wool of sheep grows quite a bit, the ideal would be for them to be shorn at least once a year. Although the outer layer protects sheep from the cold, it can also make them feel uncomfortable in the summer and create health problems, such as excessive weight loss. The sheep that was found was named Baarack. Grooming was essential for it as the summer in Australia is very hot and dry. Baarack has been taken to an animal refuge, where it will receive the necessary care.
