With the advance of Covid-19, filming and release of several films have been delayed. Check out the main children and young adult productions that have been affected at the time this edition was being published:

DELAYED PREMIERES

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway
Tired of being famous for his troublemaking, Peter takes off to the city to get away from everyone. He has great adventures there.
Original Brazilian premiere date: April 30th.
New premiere date for Brazil: there is no information yet on the release date. In the United States and Europe, the movie should arrive in theatres on August 7th.

Mulan
Live-action version of the story of a Chinese girl who dresses up as a man so she can go to war.
Original Brazilian premiere date: March 27th.
New premiere date for Brazil: none has been announced yet. However, Disney has stated that it plans to release the movie later this year.

Black Widow
The Black Widow is one of the most beloved characters of the Avengers saga. She will be the main character in a movie about her past.
Original Brazilian premiere date: April 30th.
New premiere date for Brazil: none has been announced yet.

FILMING ON HOLD

Jurassic World: Dominion
The last movie of the Jurassic World – The Dinosaur World trilogy. Filming of the feature movie started in February of this year. However, due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus, it was put on hold on March 13th. No date has been set for filming to restart.

Little Mermaid
Live-action version of the classic tale about a mermaid who wants to become human. Filming would have started on March 16th, but was put on hold three days before. There is no set date for filming to restart.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3
The new movie of the franchise will take place in Rio de Janeiro. Just like the first two feature films of the saga, the production will follow Newt Scamander, a magical creature specialist. Filming would have started on March 17th and has been put on hold with no date to restart.

Closed Movie Theatres in Brazil
To prevent people from gathering and the new coronavirus from spreading, 577 movie theatres have been temporarily closed in Brazil, according to information from Portal B, which specialises in the Brazilian movie market. This figure represents 16% of all screening rooms in Brazil.
