A non-governmental organization (NGO), in the Greek island of Siros, is looking for people to take care of at least 55 of its cats. The job ad offers to pay 600 euros (around 2,700 reais) and all housing expenses – as well as the opportunity to live surrounded by nature with a view of the sea.

To apply for the spot, candidates must be over 45 years old, and of course, love cats. Some of the job responsibilities include: to feed and give medication to cats (knowing veterinary science would be an advantage), in addition to being available to provide care and affection to the felines.

It was precisely her love for cats that led Joan Rachlitz Bowell, from Denmark, to start this NGO in Greece. When they started living in Siros seven years ago, Joan and her husband noticed that there were many abandoned cats, so they decided to help. Now, they are the ones in need of assistance during the months they are away from the island.
