One hundred people gathered on Cefn Sidan beach in Carmarthenshire, Wales (United Kingdom). They broke the record for the world’s longest tug of war on March 1st. When it was stretched, the rope reached 1,694 thousand feet (over 500 meters). This made the record official in the Guinness World Records Book.
The tug of war between the two teams with 50 people each lasted one minute and 15 seconds. It was led by two of the country’s famous rugby players: Scott Quinnell and Elinor Snowsill. Elinor’s team was the winner.
