In October 2023, a couple from the town of Louisville, in the United States, bought and then lost a lottery ticket that won 50 thousand dollars (about 249 thousand reais). Four months later, in February 2024, the pair got lucky again when Mark Perdue found the ticket on the floor of one of his work vehicles.

According to a February 21st publication on the Fox 19 Now channel, Perdue bought the ticket, but was unable to redeem it when he was notified of the prize, because he and his wife could not find it. “I don’t know how long it might have sat out there if I hadn’t needed the car” stated Perdue. The amount has finally been paid out to the couple.
