The first image of the live-action series “The Powerpuff Girls” has been released. The photo, which came out on April 12th, shows the three actresses who will play the main characters of the story: Chloe Bennet will be Blossom, the leader of the group; Dove Cameron will play sweet Bubbles, and Yana Perrault will be rebellious Buttercup.

The series will be shown on the American channel CW. It is still being recorded, and no date for the premiere has been set yet. What is already known is that the story will show an adult version of the characters. After years of fighting crime and evil forces, the characters are frustrated about wasting their childhood trying to save the world. However, as they deal with this crisis, the world comes under threat and needs their help more than ever.

Who are they?

The new series was inspired by the cartoon “The Powerpuff Girls”, which was launched in 1998. Find out more about them as adults:

Blossom: although she was a brave and “perfect” child, the trauma of being a superhero turned her into an anxious adult. She wants to be a leader again – but this time, in her own way.

Bubbles: as a child, her sweet disposition and manners won people’s hearts. As an adult, she has surprising strength. Initially, she is more interested in becoming famous again than in saving the world, but she could surprise us.

Buttercup: in her childhood, she was the rebel of the group. As an adult, she now spends her life trying to erase her past as a heroine. She tries to live anonymously.
