A Hora do Desconto (The Discount Hour, Pedro Bandeira) – By 3rd grade classroom 4 students at CEIEF Governador Mário Covas, Limeira (SP)

This book is a retelling of some fables and leaves us with several lessons in morality at the end of each story. Our favorite was “The King’s New Clothes”, which shows the vanity of a king in an amusing way. He is deceived by two swindling seamstresses who claim they can make clothes from fabric that can only be seen by intelligent people. The king, unable to see anything, is not clever enough to notice the scam and embarrasses himself by parading naked around town. In the end, the author embellishes his tale with amusing, wise lessons in morality.
