The town of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, in the United States, elected a dog as its new mayor on November 3rd. The dog is named Wilbur Beast and is a French bulldog. The animal received 13,143 of the 22,985 votes. It was the candidate with the most votes in the town’s history.

The craziness does not end there. Wilbur is not the first dog to run for mayor. It will replace a pit bull named Brynneth Pawltro which was elected in 2017. The other candidates who came in second and third this year are also dogs: Jack Rabbit is a beagle and Poppy, a golden retriever. They will be the new ambassadors of the city.

It is clear, however, that Wilbur will not have to make any decisions. Because it is very small, Rabbit Hash does not have its own government. It is run by the mayor of a neighbouring city.
