By Arthur S.R., age 9

Juan Villoro was born in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, in 1956. He is a writer, translator, and university professor. The story of The Wild Book takes place when Juan was 13 years old. In the plot, he wants to spend the holidays exploring the neighborhood with his friend Pablo. But Juan does not get to do that, because has to stay at his uncle Tito’s house.

During the time he is there, Tito and his nephew look for “the wild book”.  The book has never been read because it escapes all its readers. Luckily, Juan is able to rely on his uncle’s help to unravel this mystery.

This story is a 186-page long, 21-chapter mystery, and I really liked the way the narrator tells the events. He uses a tone and words that create a lot of suspense. It is interesting to read 5 to 6 chapters a day, the pages are small and there are few in each chapter. In my opinion, the book is suitable for all readers.
