New Zealanders were crowned the best in the world in the biggest rugby women’s championship. They defeated the English in the final on August 26th, in Ireland. The men’s teams will compete in the Rugby World Cup from October 27th to December 2nd. The event, which takes place every four years and is hosted by World Rugby, will be held in Australia. The Rugby World Cup is the third most watched sport event in the world (after the Olympic Games and the World Cup).

Rugby is popular in Europe, South America (Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile) and in countries that were colonized by the British (Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa).

In Brazil, the number of those who practice the sport has been growing. In 2017, Brazil was chosen by World Rugby, together with Germany, as a priority for investment. From now to 2021, the Brazilian Rugby Confederation will receive financial incentives of R$ 9,7 million.

The dance is filled with screams, body slaps, and faces with the tongue sticking out. The dance, known as haka, is a Maori tradition.
