An American who was working remotely since the beginning of the pandemic got a scare when he went back to the office. The small plant on his desk had grown so much that it was almost touching the ceiling. The man asked for advice on what to do on social media. On March 23rd, the story went viral. The plant even got a nickname: Dee, short for dieffenbachia, which is the genus of the plant.

The employee received a lot of amusing advice when he shared the story: “You get him a name badge… This plant is your co-worker now,” joked one social media user. Since the species needs water every one or two days, the big question on social networks – and which even the plant owner does not know how to answer – is: who watered Dee during the pandemic?
