At 14 years and 69 days, a pet chicken from the state of Texas, USA, was recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest in the world. Named Pearl, she was born on March 13, 2011, after being hatched in an incubator by her owner, Sonya Hull. She has lived with her family since then. The life expectancy of this species ranges from 3 to 10 years. But Pearl overcame a broken leg, a raccoon attack, and even chickenpox to achieve the title. The previous record holder, Peanut, also from the US, died in 2023 at 21 years and 238 days.
