Juro que Vi: O Curupira (dir. Humberto Avelar, Brazil, 2003) — By third graders from E. E. José Zilah Gonçalves dos Santos, Itobi (São Paulo state)
In a beautiful forest, a hunter kills the armadillo’s mother. Suddenly, a spear traps the hunter’s weapon in a tree trunk. The hunter follows the tracks, but falls into a trap. Do you know why?
The curupira has magical powers that bring animals to life and transforms them. He punishes hunters, as he is the guardian of woods and forests.
We liked this movie, especially the spells used by the curupira. This film is an interesting way to recall Brazilian folklore. We recommend this movie to all students.
