Photos of engineering students from the University of Bicol, in the Philippines (a country in Southwest Asia) went viral on the Internet. The students took their semester exams between October 16th and 18th. The photos went viral because of the fun anti-cheating hats students created to stop them from cheating during exams.

The professor Mary Joy Mandane-Ortiz came up with the idea for the helmets, after seeing students at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand, use a similar strategy in 2013. The Thai students used something like a headband to block their view from the side. “I was surprised because I simply requested [they make] a very simple one, but they made very creative ones. All I said was to make a model similar to the ‘anti-glue’ hat [of the students in Bangkok] ”, she said.
