On October 11th, Travis Gienger, a professor of horticulture (the science that deals with the cultivation of various plants) won the World Pumpkin Weighing Championship, which takes place every year in California, in the United States. The winning pumpkin in the 51st edition placed first weighing 1.121 tons, just over 2.7 kg heavier than the runner-up. Travis used a trailer with reinforcements to transport the giant fruit on a 35-hour journey to the event from Anoka, a town in the state of Minnesota. Travis was also the winner of the 2023 edition.
