The Brazilian Women’s Football team is already looking to the Women’s 2019 World Cup in France. The team is coached by Vadão. It won the America Cup in 2018 and qualified for the World Cup.
With their victory, the Brazilian players also qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Japan. The team is not an Olympic champion yet, but it came in second twice: in 2008 and in 2004. The team was runner-up in the 2007 World Cup and now has the chance to be the champion for the first time.
The highest number of victories for Brazil came from the America Cup. Altogether, the female national team has already won seven cups in the eight editions of the tournament. The men have competed in 34 editions and won eight.
Today, most of the Brazilian athletes play abroad. Seventeen of the 22 athletes who played in the America Cup play overseas in countries such as the United States, France, and China. For example, Maria, the forward, is a first-string player on the American team Orlando Pride.
Stickers
The players from the women’s national teams have stickers just like the men. The advertising agency WMcCann launched a collection with female athletes from around the world that is available online for free. You can download, print, and glue the stickers. The project is called “Respeita e Cola” (Respect and Glue).
