On April 21st, the grand final of the European Gull Screeching Championship took place in De Penne, a town in Belgium. The winner was Cooper Wallace, a nine-year-old boy who impressed the judges with his imitations of bird sounds. Cooper is from Derbyshire, England and was dressed like a seagull during the final. In an interview with The Times of London, he said that his talent was discovered after he was pecked by a seagull. “I feel like they’re very friendly. Sometimes they can be a bit scary and I’m still a bit wary of eating at the beach,” he said.
