With restriction measures becoming more and more flexible in several Brazilian cities (such as the reopening of cinemas and museums), how can we know which type of activity offers more or less risk of contracting Covid-19?
The answer to this question is backed by a study by experts from the task force against Covid-19 and the Infectious Diseases Committee of the Texas Medical Association (TMA) in the United States. The team prepared a table, that was released on September 7th, which analyses the chances of contracting the disease under various scenarios.
All activities were classified considering that people would be wearing masks, keeping a distance of at least two meters, and washing their hands whenever possible. Without these precautions, no activity would be at low risk of contagion.
The table acts as a base, but it is important to take into consideration where you live. For example: walking on the street is listed as “low to moderate” risk. But if the streets where you live are full of people who are not wearing masks, the chances of contagion increase. Check out the table below:
